Book Haul

I am a huge book nerd and recently I've seemed to rack up quite a few new ones which I'm so excited to read, so here is quite a big book haul on the books that I've gotten over the last couple of months and a bit about them.

Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
A book which I have already read and given a 5/5 stars on because it was just so amazing and fast paced. It is about a world where there are people with red blood, called the Reds, who are the poor people and the workers and there are people with silver blood, called the Silvers, who are the royals and upper class and rule over the Reds and also have special powers. But there is one Red girl who has the powers of a Silver and it's about her discovering her powers and all that. It was such an amazing read with a lot of action and is probably my favourite book of the year so far. And just to prove how good it is, it's being turned into a movie hopefully directed by Elizabeth Banks and the second book will be released at the beginning of 2016!

It's Kind of a Funny Story by Ned Vizzini
Another book that I have already read and also loved, but it was very different from my normal reads. It's about a teen boy who is suffering from depression and ends up in a psychiatric mental hospital due to wanting to kill himself! Now I know that doesn't sound like a particularly fun read but honestly it is a book about depression which is not depressing in the least. I thought it was funny, interesting and inspiring and even though it took me a while to get through because it's not my favourite genre of book, I gave it a 4/5 and would totally recommend it to others.

A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
A book which I pretty much know nothing about apart from it's supposed to be a retelling of the Beauty and the Beast which is my favourite story, so when I kept seeing this book in stores I knew I had to pick it up and also Sarah J. Maas is supposed to be a really good writer which just makes me more excited to read this book sometime soon.

Bound by Duty by Stormy Smith
A self- published book which I again know not much on. It's about a girl discovering her powers and living in a world of half-truths and choosing between her head and heart. Something drew me into getting this book and even if I can't remember what, I really want to read this book soon and move on to the second one as well, called Bound by Spells.

If I Stay and Where She Went by Gayle Forman
Books which actually took me forever to pick up because I wanted a specific cover for the first book! The first book is about a girl called Mia who gets in an accident with her family and kind of subconsciously wakes up in hospital and has to choose if she should stay or leave. I've already seen the movie of this and if the book is anything like it, then I'm sure I'll give it a 5/5. The second book I don't know as much about, but I know that Mia leaves and it's about why she left and her relationship with her loved ones. I can't wait to read both of these books because I have quite high expectations and they seem like easy enough reads that I can get through quite quickly.

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
Again, another book I don't know much about apart from it's set in WWII and is about a young girl and a young Jewish boy. I also know that it's a film which looks really good (although apparently very different from the book) and I'm really excited to read this book because I love history and I think I'll find this book really interesting.

Slated by Teri Terry
The first book in a trilogy which I found in Waterstones by myself without having anyone else telling me I should buy it or hearing about it before. Because of this I have high expectations mainly because I found one of my favourite book series (Bloodlines by Richelle Mead) by just finding it randomly in the store. I also have high expectations because this book sounds really awesome. It's about a girl who's memory has been erased and she doesn't know who she is, she's been "slated" and the government also think she's a terrorist so I'm guessing it's about her trying to piece her memory back together while on the run, which sounds really cool and very different from anything I've ever read before, so I'm really excited to read this book and then the next two.

I've bought way more books since getting these ones, but these are all pretty high up on my reading list as they sound so amazing! I can't wait to actually sit down and read them this Autumn and Winter and hopefully read some other books as well (I promise I don't have a book-buying problem...probably)!
Love Imi xx
