Wishing for Summer

Hello there! A little random blog post as I wanted to rant off about how much I want it to be summer, and this is not necessarily for the heat but just for the freedom that I get. My GCSE exams start in about 2 weeks (in fact, I actually have an art GCSE tomorrow eek) and my ones end on the 12th June with everyone's exams officially ending on the 15th (in my school) and then after that, I have up until the beginning of September to be completely free. And I already have a bunch of stuff planned :) Here is a list of a few things that I either really want to do this summer, or am already definitely doing and am super excited for...

1) Prom! My school's prom is actually on the 16th June (the day after everybody's exams officially finishes) and everything is almost sorted which makes me super happy. I've got my dress and shoes and pre-prom plans sorted, we're now sorting out cars and after-prom plans yayaya.

2) Holiday! Me and my family go on a hot holiday (this year it's Tenerife) every year, and even though my sister won't be there this time (she's in France oo la la) I was allowed to invite one of my bestest friends and we are so excited to spend a whole week in a hot place, just chilling by the pool and eating delicious food.

3) Theme Parks! Definitely want to go to some theme/ amusement parks this year with a bunch of my friends, especially as they're not that hard to get to. We've already started planning a trip to Chesington World of Adventures and Thorpe Park.

4) A Few Days In London! For someone who has such an easy and shortish way of getting to London, I really don't go there enough. I really would love to go for a couple of days this summer, near the beginning when it's super hot and go shopping and have a picnic in Hyde Park and go sight-seeing and be all touristy and stuff.

5) NCS: The Challenge! I'm going to do the challenge this year which I am so excited for. I probably can't explain it very well so I'll leave the link for their website here and check it out if you think it looks interesting. It's basically a 3 week type course thing where you do fun activities and learn new skills and raise money for charities while being away from home and making new friends. I decided to sign up as it looks like a really fun thing to do over summer and I am super excited to meet lots of new people.

Those are just 5 of my main things that I want to do this summer, but trust me when I say there are many more things that I will hopefully be able to do, but don't worry, I will be spending a large portion of my time just watching movies, TV, reading books and relaxing (and of course blogging ;)). Thinking and writing about summer has just got me so pumped to get through my exams, because when I come out the other side, I have some amazing things that I'll be able to do.

Movie Talk~ The DUFF

Now I'm not some amazing writer or reviewer so I'm sorry if this is awful, but I recently went to see 'The DUFF' movie and decided that I would write a type of review on it because simply, why not?!
The DUFF is a new chick flick which is all about the social status of a particular girl, Bianca (Mae Whitman) who has been given a new label as the DUFF- the Designated Ugly Fat Friend. She has to try and fight this label by teaming up with a childhood friend, Wesley (Robbie Amell) and deal with her school's mean girl, Madison (Bella Thorne) and the bullying and cyber bullying that happens to her.
It is very much a film about finding yourself, growing up and defying the system by being different. It is also an extremely cheesy chick flick, if you are not a fan of cheese and a predictable ending then maybe it's not for you, but for someone who loves movies similar to 'Mean Girls' then consider this a more updated version (although, nothing can top mean girls).
The characters, in my opinion, were all very well portrayed with the actors doing an amazing job. With a movie like this, I usually manage to find fault with one of the actors but to be honest, I thought they were all pretty amazing. And, the main romance was one that I really loved and enjoyed watching.
I also thought the comedy was perfection; it was current and relatable to a teenager and was probably the best part of the movie. Me and my friends are now constantly quoting the funny lines said.
The story line was well thought out, all though I would've liked to see more of Bianca's best friends: Casey (Bianca A. Santos) and Jess (Skyler Samuels) because I thought their characters were pretty awesome, and more of Madison (but that might just be because I really like Bella Thorne :p).
The only thing that I personally found "bad" about this movie, was that it was quite predictable and of course cheesy and quite girly. My friend who saw it with me really didn't enjoy it for these reasons, however, I found it completed the movie in a way. Another thing, is that it is so so so so different from the book. Usually I would hate this, but in this weird case, I actually didn't like the book at all (just my opinion!!!) (main reason that I won't be doing a book review) and I thought the story line of the movie and just the movie itself was way better, but if you are someone who likes movies that stick true to the book for the most part then this movie definitely doesn't. The only thing that is really the same is the whole status of "the DUFF" and the personality of Bianca, otherwise it's pretty much all different.
As you can tell, I really loved this movie (and seriously want to see it again) and I urge other people to go and see it if it sounds like the type of movie you are in to, because it's definitely worth it in my opinion.

There you go, a little review on the movie 'The DUFF'. Let me know what you thought of the movie if you have seen it, or if you are planning to see it.
Love Imi xx
p.s. little disclaimer thought I'd say, just in case, totally not sponsored.
p.p.s. as I said I'm not a professional reviewer or anything, these are more just my thoughts on the movie then anything, but I hoped you liked it.

Happy List

Kind of stole this idea off of my sister's blog, but oh well :p. Here is a list of 5 things that have made me happy this past week and why.

1) The cleanliness of my room.

I'm a neat freak anyway but I recently did the biggest clear out of my room, it was a proper spring clean, and my mum even painted it for me while I was in Rome, and now that it's done I feel so much happier. And I have already started decorating my room with cute new cushions and signs and things (pics to come soon) and it just makes my room look very put together.I always like when I have a proper tidy room because I feel like I can get on with my study and work, so I'm glad that everything is all neat and tidy.

2) Getting stuff done!
Speaking of studying I have had a lot of work to do these past 3 weeks (my Easter holidays off from school) because I'm studying for my GCSEs, and you may think that I should be terrified about them and when it comes a month from now I most likely will be, but right now I'm happy with how things are going and I'm getting through all the studying and all the little jobs I've had to recently do with ease, which has made me surprisingly calm, as opposed to my usual amount of panic.

3) My new plant :)

Despite my mum thinking that plants in bedrooms are weird, I managed to convince her that having one in my room would be nice (even though I was probably more excited about the colour of the plant pot to be honest). I don't really know why having a plant in my room suddenly makes me feel happy, but for some reason it does, so it's staying.

4) Yummy fooooooddd

Honestly one of my favourite bits about being on my break away from school is that I can eat whatever I like, whenever I'd like to eat it. I'm one of the most fussiest eaters (I've been told :/) so school lunches aren't exactly my favourite thing (to say the least) so when I'm at home, I love it when my mum treats me with my favourite iced coffee drink (that's from starbucks, but I technically got it in waitrose) and a yummy salad mmm :).

5) The weather
Spring weather is always a bit unpredictable in the UK but for two days it was super sunny with a high temperature which was so nice because it meant I could study and do stuff outside, instead of just being holed up in my room. Even though the high heat and temperatures from those days didn't exactly last, it's still lovely weather where I am; I can go out in a t-shirt and not freeze my arms off. To me, this is the type of weather that I like at this time of year, because if I want to go outside and study, then I can, but if I want to stay indoors, I don't feel like I'm wasting the sunshine or being cooped up either. I really hope the weather stays like this when I take my exams, and then it can be hot for the whole summer plleeeaaasseee.

So there you go, five things that have made me happy this past week :).

An OOTD

I decided to post a little OOTD not because I'm any type of fashionista or anything (all though I like to think I am) it's simply because I like to keep record of my favourite outfits or items of clothing by photos, and I thought why not share it on my blog for others to see :).

Sunglasses~ Forever 21, Mesh Hoodie~ H&M, Vest Top~ Forever 21, Ripped Skinny Jeans~ River Island and my black Converse.

I love this outfit mainly for my new hoodie. You can't exactly tell from the photo but it's a mesh material which makes it perfect for this weird and variable spring weather in England. I also loooovvveee my sunglasses; I always find it hard to find sunglasses that suit me because I have a very round face but I really like the look of these. Forever 21 has an amazing selection that's very big for anyone who is struggling like I was.

Imi in Rome

Hello there, here is a little post about my recent trip to Rome in Italy.
From Tuesday 7th April to Friday 10th April, I got the amazing opportunity to go to Rome with my school and my friends :). I have been very lucky in being able to go to all of the amazing places that I have been to and am extremely greatful that I was able to go to my number one place in the World that I wanted to visit.
I have been to Italy once before, again with my school, when I went to Venice on an art trip. However, this trip was very different; I didn't really know what I expected from Rome but I didn't think that I would come away from the trip being absolutely amazed by the sights that I got to see. I saw many different historical and religious sights (as this was a history and religious studies school trip), such as the Catacombs, the Colosseum, plenty of Basilicas, the Vatican City, the Baths of Caracalla, the Forum and many more places. As you can tell this trip involved a lot of walking but it was really incredible and I enjoyed it a lot.

In the future, probably way in the future, I would love to go back to Rome to all of the places that I visited and find out more about the history.

A Little Welcome

I will try and keep this short and sweet, as I'm sure most of you will like, but this is the beginning of my new blog! So WELCOME!!!
I have been dwindling on the sidelines of blogging for quite some time now, constantly reading other peoples and wondering if it is the right path that I should take. And I decided, why not?! I'm not quite sure what this blog is really going to focus on, nor when I will post but trust me when I say it will be filled at times with random garble and other times, interesting facts, but each and every post will hopefully mean something to at least one person (even if that person is just me or my sister). Now instead of making a long winded paragraph, rambling on about who I am and what I like and what not, I decided to do some quick snippet questions, so here are some frequently asked questions and some random ones that I have decided to answer, just so you can get to know me that tiny bit better :).
