Get Ready With Me ~ End of Summer Party

So summer has officially ended (in my eyes at least) but my friends and I decided to have one last hoorah before the cold time of year started and everyone began leaving home to go off to University! This meant a great opportunity for a get ready with me for the look I chose to wear. I decided to show you my makeup, hair and outfit for a cute gathering, so enjoy...

Firstly my makeup was kept quite simple with just a bit of glittery eye makeup and some extra bronzer (so I looked like I had actually had a sunny summer). Here are the products that I used...

Stay Time Long Wear primer ~ Seventeen
Healthy Mix Anti-Fatigue foundation ~ Bourjois Paris (51, Light Vanilla)
Wake Me Up Anti-Fatigue Skin Brightening concealer ~ Rimmel London (010, Ivory)
Lasting Perfection concealer ~ Collection (01, Fair)
Brow Zings eyebrow kit ~ Benefit (5)
Eyes Uncovered Nude Palette eyeshadow ~ Collection
Infaillible stylo eyeliner ~ L'Oréal Paris
Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer eyeliner ~ Rimmel London
Miss Baby Roll mascara ~ L'Oréal Paris
Define & Conquer contour kit ~ Seventeen
Duo Chromatic Illuminating Powder highlighter ~ NYX (04, Snow Rose)
Glittery light pink blush ~ Collection (04, Trouble)
Lasting Finish powder ~ Rimmel London (001, Light Porcelain)

Next for hair I kept it super simple by keeping my naturally curly hair and scraping it up into a high ponytail. All I did to get my wavy curls was wash my hair the night before and then I did 2 French plaits once my hair was damp and only took them out in the morning once my hair was fully dry.

Lastly my outfit; I decided to go for something that looked as pretty and summery as possible with lots of layers so I could still look fancy but feel warm too...

Black and white pinstriped culotte playsuit ~ New Look, white knitted cropped jumper ~ Topshop, oversized denim jacket ~ ASOS, white Adidas ~ Office

And that's it! My last properly summer-type outfit and now it's straight to oversized jumpers, tights, boots and more, and I can't wait!!

Dreaming of Denim

Helloooooo, time for another outfit post as I've actually been trying with my outfits recently! I decided to give more of a specified outfit post this time, particularly because summer is coming to an end but the weather is still so unpredictable. For this, I decided to focus on denim; a staple in any person's wardrobe that can make a really chill outfit or give a fancier look all year round, whether it's shorts in summer or jeans in winter, and it's definitely something I wear almost everyday! So, with that, I decided to show you how I styled some staple denim pieces and what to wear with them...

Long sleeved pink jumper ~ H&M, denim skirt ~ Topshop, light pink Adidas ~ Office

Long sleeved white top ~ New Look, ripped skinny jeans ~ Topshop, Black studded healed sandals ~ Topshop

Short sleeved white t-shirt ~ Forever 21, denim dungarees ~ New Look, white Adidas ~ Office, Little black rucksack ~ Topshop

And there we go; another outfit post with three of my favourite looks for this end-of-summer time of year that have all incorporated denim in different ways. I think summer is officially coming to a close now so no more shorts unfortunately, but I'm so ready for cosy autumn jumpers and wrapping up warm in the winter time!

Imi in Canada

Woohoo! My 18th Birthday arrived and along with it a surprise trip to Toronto, Canada with my mum and let me just say it was one of the best trips I've ever been on!
We jetted off early on Saturday morning and arrived in a different time zone later at the beautiful hotel: the Fairmont Royal York. This hotel was so cool; it had so much history as it opened in 1929 and it's featured in many films. And I can't forget that it was the same hotel that the Royal Family stayed in when they visited!! Not only did it have all this interesting stuff, but our room was lovely and the food was incredible!
WE were super tired when we arrived so for the afternoon we decided to take an open-top hop-on-hop-off bus all around the city! No matter the expense of this activity, I would recommend to do it in every city; you get to see the whole city while gaining weird but interesting snippets of information and you get to sit down while doing so (which is great for tired feet).
Day 2 we headed a bit out of the centre of Toronto and to the Ontario Science Centre! We could've spent forever in this amazingly informative place, we only left because it was going to close for the day! It was such a cool place to go because it had interactive innovation sections where you could build your own inventions (super amazing for kids), there was a section all about space and stars, an area about animals, a place where you learnt about the body, an outside nature walk and so much more. I don't think we even explored the whole place! By the end of the day we were extremely tired but we still had a look around PATH which is an underground shopping centre that goes on for 23km underneath the whole of Toronto city!
The next day we went to the CN tower bright and early in the morning because if you go between 8:30-10:30am there will be no queue, but anytime later than that you could be queuing for more than an hour! The views there were incredible, I couldn't believe how high up we were. We spent the rest of the day shopping in the humungous Eaton Centre where we literally shopped 'till we dropped!
For our last full day we took a guided tour to Niagara Falls for the day which was just the most amazing experience, there are no words to describe how beautiful it was! We even went on the boat into the falls which is definitely worth it for the full experience and on the way back we stopped off at Niagara on the Lake, a small town which made you feel like you had stepped back in time and they had the best ice cream there!
Before we headed off on the long journey back home, we spent hours looking at all the different sea creatures at Ripley's Aquarium; the biggest aquarium I've ever been to!! Then we said goodbye to Toronto and since coming home, I've missed it so much! It was just the perfect holiday and these photos show the most amazing moments...

An amazing trip had by both me and my mum, and I would definitely go back in the future because there's plenty more to explore like Casa Loma, the Royal Ontario Museum and of ourse, more shopping!

Imi in NYC

Finally this post can go up!! Almost a year ago in October I had the amazing opportunity to go to New York City with my school and yes oh yes it was the absolute best!
I was super excited to go on this trip so the early wake-up-call on Saturday morning at 5am didn't bother me and neither did the 7 hour flight. After the long day of travelling we made our way to our, well, "interesting" hotel that looked like it was out of 'American Horror Story' and then had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe and went to the Empire State Building which was so cool to see all the lights at night.
The next day, the psychology students went to a forensic psychology lecture/workshop which I found super interesting and after walking halfway along the Brooklyn Bridge and being dragged into a street performance, we visited the Statue of Liberty and labelled ourselves as complete tourists. Then came the 9/11 memorial and museum which was the saddest most beautiful place to see; I would've stayed there for hours reading every name and bit of information if I could. We ended the busy Sunday with dinner at Bubba Gumps and late-night shopping in Times Square where we went to the giant 'Disney' store and I was in my absolute element.
On Monday we literally walked and took the Subway everywhere, including the High Line, the New York Public Library, Grand Central Station, the Upper East Side and the MET. All of which were utterly amazing and interesting. I definitely want to go back in the future to spend longer at the museum and library. Next, we had lunch in Wall St and a "power of advertising" lecture and more shopping on 5th Avenue. Our last night was spent at the New York Rangers ice hockey game, where the atmosphere was incredible and everyone got thoroughly involved, ending with a Rangers win!
On our last day, was something equally amazing, a tour of the NBC studios where we got to see all of the different stages, including Jimmy Fallon's 'The Tonight Show'! And finally after our packed-full trip, we said goodbye to New York and headed home.
Clearly, it was a very busy but enjoyable trip and I'm already missing all the good memories and fantastic sights, here are some pictures to show you just how amazing New York is (some creds to my friends Emily, Lily and Thea for being my personal camera-women)...

Another successful trip has been made and the photos don't even do it justice! New York is such a special bucket-list place to visit and I'm so glad I had the opportunity to go and not only have fun with my friend but discover more as I learnt! It was the best last trip to go on with my school, I would recommend the city to anyone craving a busy city lifestyle!

Wintery Outfits

The frozen months of 2017 winter have been in full swing as I've woken up many mornings to find the world covered in frost, and sometimes even snow! And yes, days like these actually make me super happy because I don't mind the cold if the sun is still shining and I get the chance to wrap up warm with plenty of layers and create some cute outfits. So, that's what I decided to show you, three of my favourite winter looks that I've been absolutely loving and that have been keeping me super cosy and warm. Here they are...

Long sleeved green top~New Look, ripped jeans~Topshop, cream bobble hat~Topshop, black booties~New Look

Jumper dress~Topshop, high-knee black boots~New Look

Red mini skirt~Topshop, white cable-knit jumper~Topshop, spotted sheer tights~Accessorize, faux fur black jacket~Jack Wills, heeled black booties~Topshop

There you go! Three of my favourite winter outfits! Cute but also super comfortable and cosy and have actually kept me warm during January and February. Also, the black booties have been the best for when it's icy as they stop me from slipping all over the place, and my new Jack Wills faux fur coat is just my favourite thing as it goes with everything but also actually does its job as a jacket and keeps me warm! I love these girly outfits and will definitely be wearing them throughout the rest of this cold season.

Halloween Faves

Autumn is officially here and as the end of October nears, so does the fabulous holiday of Halloween. Now, my family and I have never been the biggest supporters of this holiday but over the years, with my friends, I have grown to enjoy it more and more. I also have compiled a list of my favourite films, TV shows and books which are perfect to get you into the Halloween spirit.

Firstly, films...

1) All of the Disney 'Halloweentown' movies are my top favourites ('Halloweentown', 'Halloweentown 2 Kalabar's Revenge', 'Halloweentown High' and 'Return to Halloweentown'). I kid you not, these films were my childhood and I watch all of them each Halloween without fail.
2) Keeping with a Disney theme, I also watch the two 'Twitches' movies because they are super fun witchy ones that give me all the nostalgia feels,
3) Another Disney film has to be the ever classic Hocus Pocus.
4) An obvious one is 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' that has to be watched by everyone, if not already.
5) 'Fun Size' is a crazy good film set all around Halloween and is a nice and easy film to watch that's super funny too.

These are my favourite films leading up to Halloween and I know none of them are particularly scary but these are the classic ones which I love.

Next, TV shows...

1) 'Stranger Things' is a must-see show that would be perfect to satisfy your creepy Halloween cravings and can definitely be watched in just one day.
2) 'Bates Motel' is another super weird and creepy TV show (just get past the first episode, I promise it's better after).
3) And the 'Scream' remake is definitely on my list to watch on Halloween night.

Any other especially creepy or dramatic TV shows or ones with a holiday special would be awesome to watch too.

Lastly, books...

1) The 'Mara Dyer' trilogy by Michelle Hodkin is super good for an eerie vibe, that will actually creep you out in some places, while staying moderately realistic.
2) I am desperate to read 'The Girl on the Train' by Paula Hawkins before I see the film, so that needs to be read super soon.
3) Another book I really want to read is 'Gone Girl' by Gillian Flynn, another creepy mystery-type book.
4) Finally, 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' by Ransom Riggs is certainly a weird and creepy book that will definitely remind you of Halloween.

And that's it! Of course there are many others and some that are specifically Halloween themed, but I wanted to show you some films, TV shows and books that are my favourite for the Halloween season and can still be super creepy and put me in the Halloween mood.

Get Ready With Me ~ Festival Look

Even though technically the summer and festival season is over, that doesn't mean we can't still throw a festival themed party and dress up with glitter and all and decorate with flowers and an awesome bouncy castle. And last weekend I did just that, so here is exactly how I created my festival-type look.

Makeup

To start off with makeup, I did my everyday simple makeup routine (posted 4 weeks ago) with a little bit of extra bronzer to contour my face and make it more defined.
Then I added some silver glitter from Topshop onto my cheekbones on one side of my face to add some extra sparkle.

Hair

For my hair, I washed it and left it in plaits throughout the day so it came out with a curly/wavy, bohemian-type look, perfect for festivals.
I then just pinned back a small bit of hair with a tiny gripper on the side where the glitter was.

Outfit

And finally onto my favourite part: the outfit. I created quite a dark look but still kept up with the festival vibes thanks to the style of the top, and it was perfect for jumping around all night.

Bell-sleeved cut-out top~H&M, denim high-waisted shorts~Topshop, thick black belt~Next, slightly opaque black tights~Next.

So overall quite a simple look that worked effectively with giving off a festival-type look and it was super comfy also and made jumping on the bouncy castle to be no bother. Festival themed parties are definitely a good one because you can dress up as little or as much as you want and not have to go too far out of your comfort zone.
